KILODEX.

Privacy & data

Last updated August 2, 2026 · Version 1

Kilodex is built to be light on data. Your profile and watchlist never leave your phone. The only things sent off your device are described below.

Who we are

Kilodex is provided by Sauf, based in the Netherlands. For any privacy question, contact help@kilodex.app.

Stays on your device

We do not store these on our servers. They live only in the app on your phone:

What we collect

Search activity. We log which lifters and competitions are searched so we can measure which lifters are popular and improve the app. Used in aggregate and not tied to an account, because Kilodex has no accounts.

Usage analytics. Via Aptabase: screens visited and features tapped. No device or advertising identifier is used and your IP address is not stored: Aptabase derives a temporary id from a daily-rotating value, so sessions cannot be linked to you or followed across days.

Crash diagnostics. Via Firebase Crashlytics: crash traces, device model, OS version, and an app-install identifier. Nothing is collected until you turn this on, and turning it off deletes any report not yet sent.

We do not ask for your name, email, or contact details, and we do not sell data.

App configuration

The app checks for configuration from Firebase Remote Config so features can be switched on or off without shipping an update, including turning something off quickly if it misbehaves. This check runs regardless of your analytics choices, because a fix has to reach everyone.

It uses an installation identifier: a random id for this install of the app, not tied to you or your device across apps. We use it to switch a feature on for a specific install and to help with a support request you send us. You can see it in Settings → About and issue a new one at any time with Privacy & data → Reset installation ID.

Who processes it

Usage analytics are processed by Aptabase on EU-based infrastructure (aptabase.com/legal/privacy). Crash reports and app configuration are processed by Google as part of Firebase (firebase.google.com/support/privacy). Both act as our service providers.

Why we're allowed to

Under the GDPR, search-popularity analysis and app configuration rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving Kilodex. Usage analytics and crash reporting run only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw any time in Privacy & data in the app.

Lifters shown in Kilodex

Competition results come from the public OpenPowerlifting dataset, which collects published federation results. Kilodex holds a copy that is refreshed from that dataset weekly, so corrections and removals need to happen at the source: contact OpenPowerlifting at openpowerlifting.org and the change reaches Kilodex at the next refresh. If that does not resolve it, email help@kilodex.app and we will respond as required by law.

How long we keep it

Search and analytics data: 14 months; crash data: 90 days. On-device data is removed when you delete the app.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion; object to processing; and withdraw consent. Email help@kilodex.app.

Usage analytics are anonymous by design. Aptabase cannot tell which records relate to you, so there is nothing there to look up or delete. For crash reports and the installation identifier, resetting your installation ID in the app breaks the link to this install.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. When a change affects what we collect, who processes it, or why, we'll ask for your consent again in the app.
